Uzrefill
Instant mobile top-ups for the Uzbek diaspora — card in, credit on a parent's phone, no bank transfer.
If you work abroad, a dead phone at home is not a small problem. Uzrefill lets someone in Seoul or New York put credit on a relative's number in Uzbekistan without a bank wire or a hidden fee.
Role
I built the React Native app: contacts, checkout, and the payment flow. The backend integrations (Visa, Mastercard, PayPal) were a team effort; I owned the client that had to survive a failed charge without looking broken.
Constraint
Payments fail. Numbers get typed wrong. People send money while walking. The app had to pull a number from the address book, take a card, and make the failure case obvious. Firebase handled auth; Redux held the checkout state.
What I built
- Contact picker so "Mom" does not get typed from memory.
- Checkout that accepts major cards and PayPal.
- A path that confirms the top-up landed, instead of dying on a spinner.
